A few weeks ago I went to Leuven with my husband and he promised to take me to an 'instagram-worthy' hotspot. Boy was he right!
Noordoever is located at the Vaartkom, which used to be a deserted industrial area. However, the past years it's been transformed into an upcoming area in Leuven, with gorgeous concept stores and foodie hotspots. The concept of this restaurant is to create healthy, biological and tasty food and as you can see it's meant for vegetarians, vegans and other foodlovers..
That sounds promissing.
The interior is serene and Scandinavian, with clean lights, white walls and pretty artwork. There's a small store with a lovely collection of interior wanna-haves, books and biological beers and wines.
THE CONCEPT
Next to the bar you'll find the buffet, with many choices of both healthy and sinner food, yet everything is biological and vegetarian. You'll find the ingredients information with every dish, so that's super handy for those with special food-requirements! After you've stuffed your plate with lots of goodness ☺️, just go to the bar where they weigh your plate (Yep: you're paying according to the gram 😉) and enjoy!
First of all, I generally love a food-buffet, because you can take a bit of everything (hence, endless foodie possibilities 😬). This buffet in particular had lots of variation and the dishes are super original. A beetroot lasagna or a gluten free quiche, some roasted chickpeas, salad: bring it on!
After our lunch, we treated ourselves to a vegan cocos chocolate pie and an oat-cappucino.
One tip ☝🏻 Don't order this, because you'll want one every day 😉😋
At this place, you can be healthy or indulge on sweet treats. Either way, you're eating biological without giving in on flavor. The dishes are original and together with the interior it makes for an absolute hotspot.
When in Leuven, don't forget to pass by Noordoever, you won't regret it. I for one can't wait to get back and try out the sunny terrace! 🌞
