Hurray for oat meal

Oat meal is older than Queen Elizabeth, but for some reason it is back in fashion. Well, let me tell you, not just for some reason...


  • Oat meal is full of protein, which will keep you feeling full for a long time
  • Oat meal is full of fiber
  • Oat meal is not expensive at all…

Need more reasons to try thing well-do-er? Well, oat meal is delicious, when combined with nice fruits, nuts or seeds and, if you like to sweeten it, a tiny bit of honey. For me oat meal does the trick when I have a long day of work or planned an intensive work-out. You can prepare it in whatever way possible, but I will share my apple pie version:

  1. Heat up your water, milk, soya drink, oat drink (double the oats!)
  2. Add the oats, half of your apples slices, nuts, raisins and  cinnamon and let it cook for a minute.
  3. Pour the mix in a bowl and add the other half of the apples, nuts and raisins.
  4. If you like some sweetness, add some honey or stevia to the apples, but because of the sweet apples and the cinnamon I am leaving it out.

Your well-do-er is ready to serve! 

 

Tip when time is not on your side in the morning! 
If you leave the nuts out, you can prepare a bigger portion for several days, keep it in in the fridge, add the nuts later (so they are not soaked and still crisp) and eat it cold for breakfast.
