Right in the chic heart of Ixelles in Brussels, you’ll find a place that’s traditional and cozy, but very hip and happening: Chez Franz.
When you enter this bar, it’s as if you stepped back in time. There’s lots of wood; from the table tops, to the bar and the walls. The beer taps are the ones you see in movies from the 70’s and the posters on the wall have a vintage vibe to them. This entire mood has not been created, so it seems at least, but has simply always been as is.
You’ll find a laid back atmosphere that’s characteristic for Brussels and lots of locals that feel right at home over here.
We decided to give brunch Chez Franz a try and we were not disappointed. It’s not buffet style, which I applaud, because it always makes me eat way too much 😁😯😇. There are six options you can choose from, including sweet and savoury options and for a small or big appetite.
The salmon toast, fruit bowl and yoghurt with granola we chose were great! The salmon actually brought me right back to Sweden, where they often serve this dish with pickled onion and cream too. De-Li-Ci-Ous!
If you want to get cozy and get into the weekend mood, don’t hesitate to stroll around Ixelles and treat yourself at Chez Franz.
